War Thunder – The Realistic Vehicle Battle Simulator

War Thunder is a Realistic WWII Vehicle Battle Simulator, ranging from tanks, armored cars, planes, and even ships. This game has more than 1000 different vehicles to play with, and multiple different nations with their own unique playstyle. In this game, you can choose to control the war machine of your choosing on 3 fronts. Air battles let you control various iconic aircrafts from the early war era to the modern jet fighters of today, ground battles mainly focuses on tanks, armored vehicles, and tank destroyers and capturing points on the map, but you can call in air support when you get enough points to aid your friendly units in the battle, similar with naval battles, you mostly control different kind of ships, ranging from small PT boats to massive Dreadnoughts, this mode is more focused on a slower but more tactical gameplay firing salvos at enemy ships from far away. you can also spawn in an aircraft in this mode to carry torpedos and bombs for the destruction of enemy vessels.

Other than the multiple game modes regarding the battle you fight, this game also provides levels of realism to the game. If you want to get a more casual yet fast paced gameplay, the arcade battle mode provides you with faster vehicle, enemy markers, and automatic rangefinder in ground battles. This mode is really nice to play if you want to have some quick fun with friends. The authentic War Thunder experience lies within the realistic battle modes though, in this mode, the vehicles move more realistically and slower, enemies have no marker, so you have to be careful of your surroundings, and there is no automatic rangefinder in ground battles. you have to calculate how far your shot is from the enemy. Because of all of this aspect, realistic battle makes the game that much more satisfying to play despite its very steep learning curve. destroying enemy vehicles from the flank without them knowing where the shot is from makes you feel like a hunter in the bushes.

The accuracy of vehicle models available in this game is arguably one of the best and most accurate I’ve ever seen in a free to play game. every single detail of a tank or an aircraft is meticulously designed to be as close as the real thing. By playing this game, you can learn, although not too deeply, about how a war machine was like at the time of their service, why are they designed like so, and how they were used at the time. Personally, this game has dragged me into learning more about the history of World War II, and it has changed a lot of my perspective of it ever since.

As a free to play game, this game is a must try. it can be a little daunting looking at the amount of content at first, but it gives the game such longevity that you can play this game for thousands of hours without running out of content. The grind on the game is a little slow, but the early tanks and planes are as much fun as the top tier stuff, so you don’t have to rush grinding everything in a single day.
